Universal Containers (UC) sales managers are complaining that they cannot access their teams’ Shipment records (a custom object). Initially, the admin suggested that this is happening due to misconfigured role hierarchy (Shipment OWD is Private). After investigation, they determined the role hierarchy for these users is correct. What can be the reason why Universal Containers sales managers are not able to see Shipment records?

Selected Answer: D D. If the Grant Access Using Hierarchiesoption is deselected, users that are higher in the role or territory hierarchy don’t receive automatic access. But some, such as those users with the View All and Modify All object permissions and the View All Data and Modify All Data system permissions can still access records that they don’t own. https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.security_controlling_access_using_hierarchies.htm&type=5 upvoted 2 times
C. By disabling the Grant Access via Role Hierarchy, the Admin effectively disables the ability for anyone above the record owner in the hierarchy to see the recrds. upvoted 1 times alvfrick 2 years, 7 months ago Implicit Sharing Implicit sharing is automatic.
